The M16
has been certified by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in Great Britain
under “Section T” and also certified by Spanish Civil Aviation
Authority.
The
M16 Tandem Trainer has been certified by the Canadian Civil Aviation
Authority.
M16 Model 2006 has been noticeably upgraded in comparison to model 2000: while maintaining its peculiar size and design, it is now available with new accessories and technology improving flight comfort and general performance. Of course, its excellent safety characteristics have been preserved.
Besides a general lightening and a different and better centring, the base model has been upgraded with new cooling and lubrication systems. Thus, in order to ensure optimum operating temperature in all conditions, a special heat exchanger has been introduced together with a new coolant radiator and a thermal expansion valve. As a result, the pre-takeoff phase needs shorter warming up times and the operating temperatures remain in the green arc.
The instrument system has been upgraded too: in addition to the usual altimeter, air-speed indicator, digital rotor rev counter and electrical fuel level gauge, the M16 TANDEM TRAINER comes with the latest version of the new Flydat Rotax, a unique digital instrument displaying 9 engine parameters simultaneously (oil pressure, oil temperature, CHT, 4 EGT, engine rpm, Hour Meter). A large number of useful emergency/control warning lights are connected to the instrument system, providing information on the rotor brake, exhaust trim, low fuel level, and battery recharge. M16 models with Rotax 914 engine feature warning and danger indicators too. The well designed instrument layout and the large instrument panel will meet the needs of those pilots requiring more complete flight instruments (see GPS devices or other flight
instruments).
Ground operations have been upgraded too by introducing a front control lock device for preventing the accidental engagement of the
pre-rotor.
